GETTING MY HAIR WET.

Or so I thought, entering my junior year of high school and freshman year of college at the same time. Partially homeschooled my entire life, I had never stepped foot in a “real” school up until that point. I had plenty of friends and participated in sports and extracurricular activities but, I felt that my lack of a normal schooling experience would be an innate disadvantage when I started full-time at my local community college. I had always wanted to do something meaningful with my life, to change the world — but, saying hello to someone sitting next to me in class? That was terrifying. I worried that this irrational introversion would handicap me for the rest of my life.
